“To talk about how I started to love art is to go back to my early childhood. I am an artist’s daughter and it started as a game. I have spent the last 35 years of my life dedicated to growing as an artist. I began my exposure with the visual arts with pottery and I've come a long way exploring different materials and techniques. I studied at the Ceramics workshop 2000 of my father Henry Salaverria, then as a natural process of learning through play, I discovered that I could create figures and add them to the pottery vessels. Gradually and finally all that was left was the figures and they have been evolving ever since. I sculpt them in bronze, find them in wood, I blend them with iron and now I test and explore new materials and techniques that I fall in love with. My journey in art has been different but fascinating. I grew up surrounded by artists and have had the opportunity to learn and work with them throughout my life. My artwork lives in different parts of the world, but most importantly I hope they live in the minds and hearts of those who enjoy them as part of their lives.”
