Doniel Espinoza has been called “ The poet of the Extraordinary”. He believes that art and love are both universal. The strength of color in his paintings shows powerful emotions. His penetrating look goes further than instinct, allowing him freedom to express his creativity. Born in Honduras in 1970 but nationalized in Guatemala, Espinoza studied at El Cerro del Carmen outdoors art school in Guatemala City, and then completed his studies at the Guatemalan National School of Fine Arts and at the Pan-American University of Houston. He has participated in more than 30 group shows in Guatemala, El Salvador, Ecuador, the United States and Germany. His individual shows include some in the City Hall of Guatemala City; Raymondville Library of Houston; Neuses Club, Corpus Christy, Texas; Sol del Río art gallery in Guatemala City; El Sereno and La Fuente art galleries in Antigua; and at the Monet Art gallery in Guatemala City. He has won numerous awards in Guatemala City, including the first prize at the El Cerro del Carmen contest; third prize at the VII National Watercolor Hall; first prize at the September 15 Central American Contest; second prize at the XI National Watercolor Hall, and an Honorable Mention at the Paiz Art Contest.
